PRODUCT DETAILS

•HARIPURE MULTANI MITTI is extracted at a depth of nearly 100 feet from the mine in the Multani Mitti belt near Barmer town in Rajasthan, India.

•It is selectively taken out from the geological seam, leaving any other associated minerals such as Bentonite, sand, etc.

•It is then brought up to the ground level and carefully spread on the plot while taking care that it does not get mixed up with any other material.

•It is then sun-dried on the plot to remove any excess moisture.

• After drying, a second selection begins and any outside material is removed.

• It is then packed in gunny bags and transported to the factory of HARITSONS at Jaipur by trucks,
travelling a distance of about 550 - 600 kilometres.

•At the factory, a third inspection/ selection takes place. Any residual foreign material is finally removed here.

•The selected material is then attrition a number of times to attain the desired superfine particle
size.

•The HARITSONS factory premises where Multani Mitti is processed, are very neat and clean compared to other mineral processing factories.

What is MULTANI MITTI?
Multani Mitti is one of the oldest cleansing cosmetic being used by humans. It has natural the capability of removing oil, grease, and dirt from the skin and pores and make the skin smooth. It is a special mitti or clayey mineral which is found inside the earth. Although it has been in use in India for thousands of years, in the last two hundred years this mineral has been classified as Fuller’s Earth, which is a type of Mont Morillonite group of minerals.

Where is Multani Mitti Found?
Multani Mitti is found ONLY IN INDIA AND PAKISTAN IN A SMALL AREA OF THE BORDER IN RAJASTHAN. The name Multani is from the town of MULTAN (now in Pakistan) which was on the silk route from Europe and Arabia. The special cosmetic clay was sold in this town for hundreds of years, giving the clay the name Multani Mitti. Although Multani Mitti is classified as a Fuller’s Earth, all fuller’s earth is NOT MULTANI MITTI. Like all river waters are not GANGA JAL, similarly, yellowish clay or mitti from any other source or mine is NOT MULTANI MITTI. Therefore it is important to know the source of Multani Mitti, before buying the same.
